Sally Field earns career achievement honor from Palm Springs fest

"Lincoln" co-star Sally Field will receive the Career Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala Jan. 5.

Earlier this week, Field received the New York Film Critics Circle's supporting actress award for her role in the film. Past career achievement honorees by the fest include Glenn Close, Robert Duvall, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren.

Previously announced Palm Springs honorees include Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts, Robert Zemeckis and the ensemble of "Argo."
