Moving on to the new Variety
By now, hopefully, you've heard about all the exciting changes at Variety, not the least of which is our revamped website, which has begun operation and officially launches Friday.
Under the new format, content that used to appear on the Variety blogs is all landing in one central location on the home page, and content that is specifically awards-related — including the stuff you'd find here at The Vote — will appear under the Awards tag. A native of Los Angeles raised by two parents and "Hill Street Blues," Jon Weisman ankled his scriptwriting career and began working for Variety in 2004, subsequently serving as associate editor of features and television reporter before becoming awards editor. He promises not to use this platform to retroactively campaign for Oscars for “The Misfits,” though he’d feel justified in doing so.
