Who Will Play Lewinsky?
Writer-director Peter Morgan's follow-up to The Deal and The Queen, The Special Relationship, will star Dennis Quaid as Bill Clinton, Julianne Moore as Hillary (too thin!) and Michael Sheen as UK prime minister Tony Blair--for the third time. It will be an HBO movie, oddly enough, and the relationship describes the one between Clinton and Blair, although naturally the plot will delve into the Monica Lewinsky scandal. So who will play the zaftig White House intern who drove Clinton to risk his presidency? Well, most Hollywood actresses are too thin. Anne Hathaway could do it, if she gained a few pounds. So could HBO's own Gennifer Goodwin (Big Love). Who would you cast? Martine McCutcheon, who fell for her prime minister boss Hugh Grant in Love Actually, would be perfect, if she could do an American accent.
Sorry to say, missing an incredible opportunity to add some sizzle to his steak, Morgan insists he will use archive footage.

You nailed it. Goodwin would be perfect.
Never caught Big Love but I thought the actress was the best thing in He's Just Not That Into You.

McCutcheon is much better known to British audiences, however I checked her bio and found this interesting bit! Wins my vote.
Early career
At the age of 12 McCutcheon obtained her first acting role and was paid £350 to appear in an American television commercial for the drink, Kool-Aid.

Melanie Lynskey, who played the other teen murderer (with Kate Winslet) in "Heavenly Creatures" and the weird neighbor on "Two and a Half Men."

Martine HAS mastered an American accent: She played an American in "Jump!" co-starring Patrick Swayze.

Thanks, Andrina. I tried to find out more about this film. Austrian?? But kept running into a similarly titled documentary about rope jumping! However, I did see some new photos of Martine that convinced me she's Lewinsky.

Dennis Quaid should be the one playing Tony Blair. He looks just like him.

Goodwin would bring a sultry innocence like her character in Big Love, where she is idealic in the romance of the affair with Clinton, yet duped in the end only to realize she is just a pawn. Goodwin would be PERFECT as Lewinsky, and hell, she might even make some people feel, dare I say it, sympathy for the young aide. Who will play Tripp is a better question, Rosie O'Donnel perhaps?
