Schmoozing at ShoWest

The stars are rolling into Vegas. Demi Moore, Kevin Costner and Dane Cook landed Tuesday to promote their new pic "Mr. Brooks" as part of 33rd annual ShoWest convention. The group gathered at the Paris Hotel to plug MGM's psychological thriller.

Nearby, William Friedkin was in town to promote his latest pic, "Bug," with exhibs, but he's no stranger to the Strip. Helmer said at a Lionsgate cocktail reception for the pic on Tuesday that he'd spent a lot of time in Sin City while his wife, Sherry Lansing, was producing "Indecent Proposal," and that he still hits town every six months or so. Lionsgate's suite atop the Bellagio certainly looked like a location from "Proposal" — a sprawling high rollers paradise over looking the city below.  As the event wound down, and other stars from Lionsgate's slate worked the room, Friedkin slipped into an elevator solo. "I'm gonna hit the tables," he said. "But I don't have too much time, so I'll play Blackjack." (I. Mohr)
