Sippin' on the Sand

Malibu denizens and a smattering of neighborhood celebs -- including Merv Griffin, Emilio Estevez, Jane Seymour, James Keach, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber -- hit the beach for the fourth annual Malibu Wine Classic on Saturday. Guests sampled wines from California's Central Coast in a two-sesh benefit aiding child abuse charity ChildHelp (ChildHelp.org). Held in a big white tent next to Zuma Beach's Sunset Restaurant, the winefest raised $100,000. The daytime affair featured taster-sized pours from more than 60 wineries such as Arcadian, Fess Parker, Tablas Creek and Linne Calodo, plus gourmet bites from local eateries (including Geoffrey's, Michael's, Duke's,  Moonshadows and Water Grill). Event founders -- entertainment attorney Michael Barnes and Malibu wine merchant John Selman -- and charity director Tony Griffin added tables for the more exclusive nighttime event, which featured larger portions (of food, not vino) and Griffin senior belting out a few tunes.
