'Rocket Science' has liftoff

No limos were need at Tuesday’s “Rocket Science” preem after-party in Gotham as guests and stars arrived at the Meatpacking district’s hot spot, Fig and Olive, in good old fashion school buses.

The yellow clunkers were often featured in the film, a semi-autobiography by “Spellbound” writer-helmer Jeffrey Blitz. During the soiree, pic’s star Reece Thompson noted that it was a bit odd shooting scenes that Blitz had actually lived. And although the film is filled with relative unknowns, many of the young thesps are kicking their career into high gear. Co-star Anna Kendrick has two films in post-production (“The Marc Pease Experience” with Ben Stiller and Jason Schwartzman and indie film “Elsewhere”), while Thompson could only stay in Gotham for one night due to the fact that he’s currently juggling two other projects including “Afterwards” with John Malkovich.
