AMPTP: The Devil you know?

Horror writers have decided to do their bit to help end the strike. From UnitedHollywood.com:

We, the horror writers of the WGA, don't necessarily believe that the AMPTP is evil. Rather, we believe they've been invaded by evil spirits whose devilish agenda is the destruction of our Guild. For this reason we have decided to conduct this exorcism for the mutual benefit of this industry. We may be dark souls, but we do believe that good eventually triumphs over evil. We encourage our brothers and sisters in horror to join our procession by emailing Jace Anderson at creepymofo [at] roadrunner [dot] com or Scott Kosar at scottkosar [at] mac [dot] com. And, of course, we welcome ALL writers to come and support our fight at Warners Gate 4, Tuesday at noon.

What I gathered from this article is, it seems like the writers and their strike is self-defeating, self deluding, and a "Lose, Lose" situation, or a win-win proposition. There will be no true "Victory" for either side. Streaming video has always been for advertising only, to sell a product first off, first hand.

This "New Media" of digital productions of Webisodes and Video games for WGA members, SAG and otherwise isn't as great as it was hyped up to be. There are lots of pros and cons in striking over this, isn't there?

With the, new media leading back to the old, which is film and television. With hopes that a network, or production company, studios will pick it up and produce it for these medias and to be stuck writing for just the internet is another downfall, for less money and less pay for writers talents and time. The studios still win this this striking clause, don't they, don't be so stupid, naive talent get with the program, the here and now!

Without television or films, there will be no more screenwriters, they will be considered "Digital Screenwriters," and from what I've read, that will mean a new Union. Oh my gosh, a new Union, no, that doesn't sound to good either, but form what I gathered this will eventually happen.

When it comes to Video games on the internet, I've never really played any, other than maybe Scrabble, or Bingo, and it doesn't take a writer to to do that.

I don't no, this all sounds to iffy to me now, it doesn't seem good. I think you're all better off sticking with the "Tried and True" media for now, again to soon to know the residuals right now, wait! This is my opinion. Pleae be smart and have foresight about this strike,before you destory the being of the movie & tv industry.
