"Curb Your Enthusiasm" star and exec producer Jeff Garlin (that's him at the far right, partly hidden by a strike sign) was out on the picket line in front of Paramount this morning, along with a host of others, as day two of the WGA strike commenced.
Like many of "The Office" multi-hyphenates, Garlin's in an unusual situation: He's a writer, but also a thesp.
But "Curb" is even more unusual, in that most of the show is improvised, per HBO's description:
"Curb Your Enthusiasm is shot without a script; the cast is given scene outlines and often improvise lines as they go. The result is an unpredictable format that's unlike anything else on TV."
Could "Curb" potentially still be shot, with the thesps making it up as they go along? Or is that still kinda considered writing, especially when a famous scribe -- Larry David -- is leading the charge?
Luckily for Garlin and David, they won't have to deal with that dilemma. "Curb" wrapped shooting its current season back earlier this year. -- Michael Schneider
