Give these scribes an inch to work with and they'll take a mile.
After NBC Entertainment co-chief Ben Silverman made the analogy to E! News on Monday that the Golden Globes getting torpedoed by the town's labor strife was like "the ugliest, nerdiest, meanest kids in the high school" cancelling the prom, the scribe tribe has come up with a cheeky response, per UnitedHollywood.com.
The "Ben Silverman High Winter Prom" will be held outside "BS High School" -- aka NBC studios in Burbank -- on Jan. 17 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Also, word on the picket line is that there are extra-special plans in the works for Sunday's picket of the Golden Globe news conference at the Beverly Hilton. A black tie picket? Dinner tables with lots of free mediocre booze flowing? Pia Zadora accepting a special WGA tribute? Don't know the specifics but it'll undoubtedly make for good visuals.
